4-Star Equestrian Moves Into Woodhouse Farm

A successful and well-known equestrian mother and daughter team have taken over the tenancy of Woodhouse Farm on the Needwood Estate in Staffordshire.

Lucy Robinson is an up and coming 4-star rider who won Badminton Grassroots aged 14 and who has represented Britain in the Under-21 Eventing Team.  Highlights last season include being placed 2nd at Hartpury International 3-star and competing at Blenheim and Aston-Le-Walls International 4-star horse trials on her principal horse, Cosmic Charm, a 16:1 bay gelding that she has been riding since he was a 4 year old. Her mother Jane Robinson is also an accomplished and respected horsewoman and coach. Together, they have self-produced many of their horses and gained multiple successes at both national and international competition level.

Working from their new base near Tutbury in Staffordshire, they are seeking to build on and further develop their successful equestrian business, establishing links with like-minded owners who want to see their horses improve their eventing and dressage performance with an established and promising rider. In addition, Jane is looking forward to the opportunity to develop and expand her coaching business.

Woodhouse Farm will offer a full range of equestrian services on site, from competition and schooling livery to tuition and coaching. The holding includes 23 high quality stables, a 20m x 60m outdoor arena, individual turn-out paddocks, fully alarmed secure tack room and a washbox with solarium.

Commenting on the move, Jane said: “The happiness of both our horses and their owners is very important to us. Each horse and owner has a bespoke package working towards a set of realistic goals which keeps horse welfare and happiness in mind at all times. We are both very excited by the move to Woodhouse Farm. Our goals are set and we look forward to embracing the challenges ahead. Through hard work, good humour, self-belief and with the support of our valued owners we are eager to see where 2022 takes us!”

Duchy Head of Rural Carol Hawkey added: “We are very pleased to welcome Jane and Lucy into the Duchy family of tenants. Lucy is fast establishing an excellent reputation in the eventing industry with some very impressive results and we are delighted that they have chosen Woodhouse as their base. We look forward to working with them to grow and develop their business in the years ahead and of course to cheering Lucy on at future events!.”
