Lettings surge for Duchy’s Harrogate residential development

The Duchy of Lancaster’s £2million Ripon Road residential development is more than 60 percent let just weeks after its completion.

Eight of the 13 apartments at 11 Ripon Road have now been let by Harrogate-based agents Linley & Simpson.

The development – which features the refurbished Victorian era Granville House, home to four apartments, and the new-build Villiers House with nine apartments – was finished in September with the first tenants moving in immediately.

Mike Andrews, head of commercial at the Duchy of Lancaster, said: “We are extremely pleased with the interest so far, which is testament to the strong demand for quality housing in Harrogate. Considering that the apartments have been on the market for only a matter of weeks, to have more than half already spoken for is great news.”

Emma Horton from Linley & Simpson’s Harrogate branch added: “The feedback from tenants has been excellent and we would encourage any interested parties to move quickly if they wish to secure an apartment. This is a fantastic opportunity to rent within a prestigious development in a very desirable area of Harrogate and we expect both buildings to be fully let by Christmas.”

Both buildings benefit from landscaped greenery and allocated parking spaces and have strong green credentials, with high performance double glazing, high efficiency and low emission boilers as well as LED lighting.a

Prices of the two bedroom apartments range from £900 pcm to £1,600 pcm.

The buildings have been named in honour of 19th century Duchy Chancellors, Sir Granville George Leveson-Gower and George Villiers, who strongly championed the growth of Harrogate as an upmarket spa town.
