Lancaster Castle opens for Easter
The Duchy of Lancaster has confirmed that Lancaster Castle will open its doors for a series of public tours this Easter weekend, to include various parts of the former prison site.
The tours, from Lancashire County Council Museums Service and in conjunction with the Duchy of Lancaster, which owns the site, will allow visitors to see inside the castle, the courtyard and the former prison areas.
Access into this part of the castle will offer visitors more detailed views of some of the building’s most historic and intriguing structures.
The tours will take place on the 29th, 30th, 31st March and the 1st April 2013 and they will leave every 30 minutes between 10.30 and 16.00 (inclusive), with the exception of 12.30.
Tickets will be available on the day from the castle shop on a strictly first come first served basis. The prices for the special tours will be: £9.00 (adult); £7.00 (children and concessions); £22.00 (family – 2 adults and up to 2 children and concessions).
It is advised that visitors wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the conditions. For more information please call 01524 64998.
